Why Choose an Educational Therapist Instead of a Tutor?

While tutors and Educational Therapists both support students, they serve different purposes.

A tutor primarily focuses on helping a student learn specific academic content, complete assignments, prepare for tests, or improve performance in a particular subject. Tutoring is often most effective when a student understands how to learn but needs additional practice or instruction.

An Educational Therapist goes beyond teaching academic content. Educational Therapy addresses the underlying learning challenges that may be impacting a student's success. Educational Therapists are trained to identify and support difficulties with executive functioning, attention, memory, processing speed, organization, study skills, self-advocacy, and learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning disabilities.
